The
most powerful earthquake of
our recent history wrought devastation across Southeast Asia on the
morning of December 26, 2004. The earthquake with a magnitude
of 9.0 struck close to Indonesia and the giant killer waves of
unleashed by the earthquake devastated many of the coastal cities in
the region.
While details are still emerging by the minute we already know that
over 100,000 killed, thousands still missing, millions left
homeless and lost their earthly possessions. There is fear of
increasing death toll by the spread of diseases.
Faced with such devastation and struggle for life and hope survivors
of the tsunami will need our help to recover and rebuild what they
have lost. We can not help them bring back their lost loved ones,
but we can help them get back on their feet by helping them with
food, medical help and getting their jobs and businesses back.
As a group of people knowing the power of Internet to research,
learn and connect we thought that the best way we can help this
cause is to bring together the people that want to help with the
right organizations that can use the help for the right cause.
That’s why we are bringing this Website that will provide links and
resources about different organizations what they do, how they are
involved with the recovery efforts of the tsunami and ways to make
donations or provide help to these organizations. We are not
endorsing any of these organizations but simply providing links and
information for your own research. Please use information carefully
and at your own risk.
We are also providing you news links about this disaster and a blog
so that you can read postings of any valuable information from our
visitors.
We would also like to thank our sponsors mentioned on this Website
who provided us the means and the funds to make this Website come
together and exist.
